Applied Electronics Corporation. is a privately
held group of companies providing integrated equipment design,
steel fabrication and electrical installation services for the
seed industry. AEC Group, Inc has seen a dramatic growth during
the year 2000. To better represent ourselves throughout the industry,
AEC Group, Inc. was formed as the parent corporation to manage
three separate companies.
Applied Electronics Corporation was the original
company within AEC Group which is based in St. Charles, Iowa.
The company provides electrical process control systems, UL and
CUL listed industrial control panels, field installation, support
services including a 24 hour technical support telephone line,
E-mail and a corporate web site. The design staff has extensive
experience with Allen-Bradley PLC’s including the PLC/5,
SLC/500 and MicroLogix product families. Project work to date
includes experience with various A-B control networks including
DH-485, DH+, Remote I/O and DeviceNet. The panel shop is UL listed
for flame management systems and also rebuilds various components
such as Interroll motorized pulleys, Maxitrol modulating valves,
Fisher regulators, and Maxon safety shutoff valves. The current
field staff includes 3-5 installation crews with capability to
work on both domestic and international projects.
AEC Net, Inc. provides commercial and industrial
computer networking services including system planning, facilities
wiring, software installation, and support. In addition to internal
work within AEC Group, the staff can provide assistance with industrial
control networks and project related facilities planning.
AEC Enterprises, Inc. operates the manufacturing
facility near New Virginia, Iowa which was formerly owned by Seed
& Grain Systems, Inc. The acquisition included the engineering
designs and records for many seed facilities constructed over
roughly 25 years of operation including international plants built
in various foreign countries. The current staff includes most
of the former Iowa based employees of Seed & Grain Systems.
This retention has permitted the company to offer continuity from
a design and technical support perspective. The operation is currently
focused on providing steel fabrication and design services for
the seed and related industries and is actively working to document
and market many of the “custom” products built by
the former company. The product line included a wide variety of
plant components including ear corn receiving systems, belt conveyors,
seed dryers, burner systems, rectangular bulk storage systems
and seed conditioning tower structures. The majority of the steel
components are produced directly by our fabrication shop. Burner
units and other products requiring integrated controls are built
in conjunction with our electrical company in St. Charles. In
addition, turnkey facilities can be provided through agreements
with qualified contractors. We also provide custom fabrication
services for proprietary products and trucking delivery services
within the continental United States.
